AACP is the organization committed to education and scholarship for improving drug therapy. The Association will strengthen its mission of promoting professional and graduate education through effective use of policy, information, advocacy and programming.
AACP strives to be a source of creative energy for members as they seek excellence in accomplishing their missions of teaching, scholarship and service. As faculty of colleges and schools of pharmacy analyze changes in (1) the profession of pharmacy and the delivery of healthcare; (2) societal demands upon higher education; and (3) support for research in the sciences fundamental to pharmacy, AACP will be an important catalyst for creative ideas and practical strategies for advancing pharmaceutical education to better meet the requirements of students, employers and society.
AACP will be the center for data and information that will allow analysis and projections of (1) work force trends in pharmacy education and in the pharmaceutical sciences; (2) quality of academic programs; and (3) financing of educational programs. The data will also be useful in influencing pharmaceutical education, healthcare and science policy makers in advancing the mission and goals of pharmaceutical education.
AACP will be a unifying force among health professions educators in advocating teamwork to advance pharmaceutical care for individual patients and populations of patients. The Association will facilitate collaboration between pharmaceutical educators and other stakeholders in the healthcare delivery system.
AACP will continue to work with others in the pharmacy profession as the role of pharmacy in healthcare evolves. As pharmacy is a global profession, AACP will facilitate unification of ideas and concepts while preserving the uniqueness of individual societies and cultures.
AACP will provide programming to facilitate the development and dissemination of pharmaceutical, educational and healthcare information, and innovations to members and other stakeholders. The use of information technologies will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of these efforts.
