Sabbatical Fellowships - The PhRMA Foundations offers sabbatical fellowships of $40,000 to support an academic or calendar year sabbitical for mid-career faculty in the areas of health outcomes, informatics, pharmacology/toxicology, and pharmaceutics. Applications are due Oct. 1 each year.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care Announces the Service Expansion Funding for the Health Center Program - The HRSA OPA strongly encourages applicants to collaborate with an accredited school of pharmacy in planning and implementing its pharmacy services. An affiliation with a school of pharmacy would provide mutual benefits for both the school and health center by assisting health centers in recruiting pharmacy staff while providing community-based training sites for student pharmacists. HRSA OPA also encourages participation in the HRSA Patient Safety/Clinical Pharmacy Collaborative.

Background: Pharmacy Services HRSA has made access to pharmacy services for underserved populations a priority for FY 2008, and is offering this opportunity to establish or expand pharmacy services. Applicants may propose to establish a licensed in-house (on-site) pharmacy staffed by a registered pharmacist to provide pharmacy services appropriate in meeting the needs of the patient population, or provide pharmacy services through a contractual relationship with a licensed pharmacy, or propose to provide a combination as specified in the Alternative Method Demonstration Projects (AMDP).

Pharm.D. Gateway to NIH - NIH recognizes that Pharm.D.s contribute to health at many levels through education, patient care, and research. Because of significant interest in translational/clinical research questions related to drug development and therapeutics, the field of pharmacy is in a unique position to conduct research toward achieving the goal of individualized prescription drug therapy. The Pharm.D Gateway to NIH is an online resource that provides information about NIH funding opportunities for Pharm.D. students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty.

PhRMA Foundation New Faculty Research Starter Grants - The PhRMA Foundation offers research starter grants of up to $30,000 per year for two years for new faculty with an appointment of instructor or assistant professor in the areas of health outcomes, informatics, pharmacology/toxicology, and pharmaceutics.
