What is the Encore Institute?
At the 2014 AACP Encore Institute, CAPE Educational Outcomes 2013, teams of 3-5 faculty and preceptors from one institution will explore each of the four domains, gaining foundational insight and discovering how programs are working toward implementation. Through structured team meetings, groups will develop action plans for curricular delivery, mapping, and assessment.
Who should attend the Encore Institute?
When does the Encore Institute begin and end?
The Encore Institute begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 17. The Encore Institute concludes on Wednesday, November 19 at Noon.
When does registration open and close?
Encore Institute registration will open on Wednesday, August 27, and close on Wednesday, October 15, or when all spaces are filled. Space is limited, and onsite registration will not be permitted.
What is the registration package?
Registration for the Encore Institute will cost $995 per person for AACP institutional members and $1,295 per person for non-institutional members. This package fee for each registrant includes accommodations for three nights (these are single occupancy rooms); onsite breakfasts and lunches; refreshment breaks; and a welcome reception. Please note: dinner each night is on your own. Restaurant suggestions will be provided.
Where is the Encore Institute being held?
All sessions will be held at Hilton Atlanta Airport, just five minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and less than ten miles from downtown Atlanta. The hotel address is 1031 Virginia Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30354.
The Encore Institute’s meetings staff will make the hotel reservations for you and your team members. Each team member will get their own guest room. Due to the fact that each guest room is single occupancy, we are unable to accommodate guests during this meeting. Hotel confirmation numbers will be sent to attendees in late October.

What meals are provided as part of my registration?
For those who check in early on Sunday, November 16, lunch when you arrive and dinner throughout your stay is on your own and not included in your registration. Your registration package also includes continental breakfasts, lunches and refreshment breaks during the meeting. You will need your name badge so hotel staff can identify that you’re with the AACP group.
The Andiamo’s Tuscan Italian Magnolia Grill and Finish Line Sports Bar are also available onsite for networking and team-building opportunities. Please note, however, that these are not included in your registration.
How is payment for the Encore Institute handled?
Registration for the Encore Institute is on a first-come, first-served basis. When we have reached the maximum number of attendees, teams will be “wait listed.”

What if we need to add, remove or replace a team member?
If a team member needs to be added, removed or replaced, contact Melinda D. Colón, associate director of governance programs and meetings, at 703-739-2330 ext. 1012 by Wednesday, October 15. Any team member addition or removal must adhere to the 3-person team minimum and 5-person team maximum requirement. Changes will not be permitted after October 15.
What is the Refund and Cancellation Policy?
Team registration: A cancellation fee of 15 percent of the total team registration per school will be applied if the team withdraws from the Encore Institute before Wednesday, October 15. No refunds will be given after October 15.
Team member registration: If a team member needs to be removed, a full refund will be made if the minimum requirement of a 3-person team is still met. The team member must be removed before October 15. If the removal of the team member affects the minimum requirement, the team will be canceled and the team registration cancellation policy above will apply. No refunds will be made for individual team member cancellations after October 15.

What are my transportation options when I arrive?
The Hilton Atlanta Airport offers a courtesy shuttle from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in the Ground Transportation area west curb, outside the Domestic Terminal between the North and South terminals. Hotel shuttles are located in the Purple Bus isle, Stalls 25 through 29. The shuttle departs every 15-20 minutes from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and is on call after 11:00 p.m. Courtesy phones are available at the Domestic Terminal for after hours. Taxis cost about $15 each way.
Self-parking is complimentary as part of registration at the Hilton Atlanta Airport. Valet parking is available for $20 per night.

What is the dress code?
Attire at the Encore Institute is casual. Feel free to dress in khakis, polo shirts, jeans, t-shirts and, most importantly, comfortable shoes. Please remember that meeting rooms can get chilly. You may want to bring business casual clothing if your team decides to go out for a nice dinner offsite.
What is the weather like in Atlanta, Georgia, during the meeting dates?
The temperatures in Atlanta average 64 degrees in November, with a high of 66 degrees and a low of 53. There are occasional heat waves that bring the temperature up to the low 80s.
Is there accessibility for persons with disabilities?
The goal of the Hilton Atlanta Airport is to meet every person’s needs. For people with disabilities, that means providing a fully accessible environment.
