Go Beyond Flu Shots with the Geriatric Pharmacy SIG
The first installment of the Geriatric Pharmacy SIG Webinar Series, Beyond Flu Shots: Update on Immunizations for Older Adults, will take place Tuesday, July 22, at 1:00 p.m. EDT. This dynamic Webinar will review the current CDC and CMS vaccination recommendations for elderly patients, as well as discuss some of the new vaccine technologies that are encountered in clinical practice. Submit Soon: New Investigator Award Letters of Intent
Letters of intent for the New Investigator Award are due by Noon EDT on Friday, Aug. 1. Information and submission instructions can be found on the AACP Web site. AACP staff will be available to answer questions at the AACP Exhibit Booth during the Annual Meeting, Sunday, July 27, from 4:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m., and Monday, July 28, from 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. For questions, please contact us at NIA@aacp.org.

2014 Graduating Student and Faculty Survey Data
National summary reports for the 2014 Graduating Student and Faculty Surveys are now available on the AACP Web site. These surveys are part of AACP’s portfolio of Curriculum Quality Surveys, which are used by colleges and schools of pharmacy to assess curricula and provide data during self-study and accreditation reviews.

 

Amanda Thomason Named New AJPE Editorial Manager
AACP welcomes Amanda Thomason as editorial manager for the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. She brings 14 years of non-profit experience to the Journal and will be working out of the AACP headquarters in Virginia. Amanda can be reached by e-mail or phone at 703-739-2330 ext. 1049.

Google+ Hangout with the Winners of the Script Your Future Challenge
On Aug. 7, from Noon–1:00 p.m. EDT, join a Google+ Hangout with the winning teams of the 2014 Script Your Future Medication Adherence Team Challenge. A student representative will present their team's unique approach to tackling poor adherence in their community. To sign up, visit the dedicated Google+ page. AACP Seeks Input into the ACPE Standards 2016 Revision
The Board of Directors has appointed a committee comprised of both Board members and members-at-large to collect input regarding the ACPE Standards 2016 revision on behalf of the Association. This survey provides individual members an opportunity to provide comments directly to the committee. The Section and SIG leaders are also providing feedback in a separate survey. Please respond by Monday, Aug. 11, at 5:00 p.m. EDT.
