Hosted by the Experiential Education Section
During their experiential rotations (IPPEs and APPEs), pharmacy students may encounter situations that can be traumatic, such as a code, the death of a patient, or other critical events that they may not know how to handle. To help students cope with these situations, a panel of preceptors and faculty will discuss their methods for addressing such incidents and the training approaches they have used to prepare their students. The insights gained from this webinar can be shared with preceptors and schools to support their students and help them manage similar critical incidents in the future.
Objectives:
- Understand methods for assisting preceptors in guiding students through challenging situations such as patient deaths, critical incidents, and end-of-life discussion
- Develop strategies for preparing students to navigate emotionally difficult scenarios during Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs).
