Dr. Todd Sorensen, AACP’s 2019–2020 President, will chair the CEO search committee. AACP’s Executive Committee has selected the executive search firm Sterling Martin Associates to conduct the national search for the engagement which begins this month. SMA CEO David Martin will serve as the managing partner for the search. David and the firm have conducted several successful searches for pharmacy organization executives in recent years. Additional information, including the position description and timeline, will be available in September.
AACP has been transformed in dynamic ways during the tenure of EVP Maine. The AACP membership grew significantly as did the AACP staff. A host of new programs and services have been introduced, including PharmCAS, the centralized pharmacy school application system, the Academic Leadership Fellows Program, and an expanded program of institutional research. AACP’s reach outside of pharmacy also expanded markedly as Dr. Maine served as a co-founding board member of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) and as a member of several other boards, including Board of Research America, the Alliance for Integrated Medication Management, and the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education. AACP also leads the most significant consumer outreach campaigns in recent years to increase consumer understanding of pharmacists changing roles and impact on the public.
