AACP Argus Commission Forecast 2024

Introduced in the 2023–24 year, the inaugural AACP Argus Commission Forecast 2024 is an overarching feature of AACP’s strategic efforts. AACP enlisted the Argus Commission to conduct an environmental scan to forecast future trends that may affect the pharmacy Academy. The goal was to provide Association members with information that will help guide their own strategic planning and will also help guide AACP as we maintain our association’s strategic plan. 

The AACP Argus Commission Forecast 2024 draws on the results of a member survey that captured opinions on future events from more than 450 AACP members. Using a model based on James Surowiecki’s book, The Wisdom of Crowds, the survey captured opinions on 51 scenarios regarding four key areas critical to the Academy: the overarching environment of the Academy, education, pharmacy practice and research. Argus members reviewed the survey results and provided context and commentary in those areas. AACP expects this forecasting effort to be an annual process, providing members and association leaders with ongoing guidance to help strategically and tactically prepare for potential future events.
