INvolve 2019 FAQ

All programming will be held at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida, Feb. 23–26. Please refer to the Hotel & Travel portion of the AACP INvolve 2019 website for more information regarding room reservations.

The closest airport to the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay is Tampa International Airport (TPA) located 3.1 miles from the hotel. 

Yes! Guest registration is $175 and includes entrance to the Welcome Reception on Saturday, Feb. 23; continental breakfast before the sessions; and programming on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. This registration does not apply to faculty, administrators and/or staff of pharmacy schools. The CEO Deans Networking Reception is not included.

Welcome! We are glad you have chosen to attend INvolve 2019. Network and socialize during our Welcome Reception on Saturday, Feb. 23. Share and learn from your colleagues during the social and professional opportunities we have planned for you. 

For health and safety considerations, children under the age of 16 are not permitted to attend any functions. Those 16 years old or older must still be registered as a guest.

AACP does not provide child care services. The Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay does not have nanny services available.

Attire at the AACP sessions is business casual. Feel free to be comfortable in slacks, polo shirts, cardigans (for chilly meeting rooms), blazers, blouses and most importantly, comfortable shoes. Attire for the Welcome Reception on Saturday evening is business casual. 

The goal of the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay is to meet every person's needs. For people with disabilities, that means providing a fully accessible environment. The hotel complies with the regulations set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Please make special arrangements ahead of time by contacting the hotel concierge.

The AACP single/double occupancy group rate is $229 (+ 12% tax), inclusive of resort fee. Discounted guestroom rates will be offered, based on availability, three days pre- and post-meeting dates.

There is a $25.00 per adult, per night (+ 11.5% tax) charge for the 3rd & 4th adult in room.

To reserve a room, please book online or call 1-813-874-1234 and identify yourself with AACP to receive the group discounted rate. The guest room reservation room cut-off date is Friday, January 25, 2019, or until allotted guestroom are sold-out. A one night deposit of room & tax will be charged per room within 60 days of arrival date in order to guarantee. Reservations without a deposit are subject to cancellation without prior notification. Guests have up to 7 days prior to arrival date to cancel for a full refund of deposit. Cancellations made within 6 days or less of arrival date shall forfeit the deposit as penalty.

Staying at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay will allow AACP to keep your registration fees at the current rates. If AACP does not achieve a minimum number of overnight accommodations, the price of services will increase registration fees for future programs. Without your support, AACP faces huge financial penalties for unused sleeping rooms.

Hotel Shuttle: The Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay offers a complimentary shuttle service that runs every half hour or upon request for pick up from 5:00 a.m.–1:00 a.m. daily to and from Tampa International Airport. To request airport pick up, claim your checked bags and call the hotel at 813-874-1234. The shuttle will pick up at Ground Transportation closest to baggage belt Blue #7 or Red #9.

Parking: Valet parking is available for $15 overnight. Complimentary self-parking is available. Short Term Valet (Day Time Only) is available for $8.

Typical temperatures in Florida during the meeting dates tend to range from the low to mid 70s. We recommend packing layers to accommodate various weather conditions.

The Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay is a pet-friendly hotel. Pet-friendly rooms must be booked at least three (3) days in advance of arrival. There is a non-refundable pet fee of $100 for the first six (6) nights of the reservation, and an additional $100 fee for reservations that are seven (7) nights and longer. The Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay offers complimentary Wi-Fi in their guestrooms. Wi-Fi will also be available in the meeting space. Please select the network "Hyatt Meeting" and enter the access code "Events2234". 

Registration for INvolve 2019 will open at the end of October. Visit the Registration portion of AACP’s INvolve 2019 website for more information regarding registration. Reminder: members must be logged into the AACP Web site with their username and password to access the member registration rates.

Refunds will be processed on all cancellations received in writing by Thursday, Jan. 10, excluding a $75 administrative fee. Due to meeting costs, no portion of the registration fee will be refunded for cancellations after Jan. 10. Early-bird registration rates expire on Wednesday, Dec. 12. If you are pre-registering for online special rates, credit card is the only form of payment accepted. Last Call registration rates will apply during Feb. 1-26 and may be made online. Meeting registration will also be available onsite at the AACP Registration and Information Desk located in the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay.

If you need to add an event or modify your registration, you may do so by going to the AACP My Registration page and clicking on the Review/Edit Registration link. If you want to cancel your registration for a free session (e.g. the Yoga Fitness session) you may do so via the Review/Edit Registration link.  However, if you need to cancel a paid event or your entire conference registration, please see the information below in the Refund and Cancellation section. CEO Deans are the head of a College or School of Pharmacy.

Yes. There is an AACP information session targeted to new and interim deans on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided so please remember to include this as an event when you register for INvolve 2019.

There is no formal Deans Forum at INvolve 2019.  Deans are encouraged to join all registrants for the Special INvolve 2019 Kick Off:  From Awareness to Action to Innovation Empowering Leaders through Inclusive Excellence from 3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.  This will be followed by the CEO Deans Welcome Reception beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Yes, Saturday afternoon’s program will conclude with a CEO Deans Reception from 5:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. just prior to the opening general reception. If you are a CEO Dean and would like to attend the programming on Saturday, Feb. 23, please remember to include this as an event when you register for INvovle 2019.

The Administrative and Financial Officers SIG will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 26. While the leadership topics presented at INvolve 2019 are valuable to all college and school of pharmacy faculty and staff, on Tuesday morning, INvolve 2019 programming will be of interest to the AFO SIG members. AACP recommends they participate and it will be included in registration. Those interested in the attending the AFO SIG programming must be registered. There are two options: one-day registration for $265 or if attending the full conference, please include this as an event when you register for INvolve 2019, for $35. Registration for this program include breakfast, lunch, two beverage breaks and Tuesday’s programming.

Yes, there is a research symposium pre-session on Saturday, February 23 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00p.m. The 2019 Research Symposium, Expanding Institutional Research Agendas, will examine approaches to stimulate research within and across institutions. Through a series of presentations, participants will learn strategies to expand opportunities for research at their institutions and boost their college’s research impact. Separate registration fee applies.

Deans, associate/assistant deans, department chairs, professional staff and aspiring leaders in the Academy should attend individually or as a team from their School or College of Pharmacy.

Yes, on Monday, Feb. 26, AACP will offer a free moving yoga class that welcomes all experience levels on the beach. This class will focus on deep breathing with synchronized movement to warm up your body, increase strength, circulation, flexibility, concentration, and balance as the instructor takes you along the beachfront. Mats are not required. Pre-registration is recommended.

Yes. Attendees will be able to earn up to 10.50 hours of CE credits following the successful completion of the CE activities at INvolve 2019. Please refer to the programming page for more information on the sessions offering CE credit. Participating sessions are marked as such with a NABP/ACPE program number, activity type, and the number of contact hours (CEUs) in the program schedule

AACP is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Attendees must register, complete and submit CE session evaluations by accessing the online AACP CE Administration software program, Learning Express CE (LECE): https://aacp.learningexpressce.com. Login or create your account with your AACP e-mail and password if you are a new user. Verify that your NABP e-Profile ID and birthdate are correctly entered in your LECE profile and correspond with your NABP record. (Failure to ensure this information is identical in both programs will jeopardize your earning CE credits.) Select each session attended from the list of INvolve 2019 sessions offering CE credit, and with the Access Code provided during the session complete the evaluation form. Note, attendees will need the access codes in order to complete session evaluations to receive continuing education credits. Attendees will have 45 days following INvolve 2019 to complete the evaluations. Access to session activity evaluations in LECE will be denied after April 12, at 11:59 p.m. ET. CE credit information will be electronically reported to NABP. Attendees may print “proof of participation” from the system for their records. Note, ACPE recognizes as valid only statements of credit generated from NABP e-Profile accounts. Pharmacists should login to your NABP e-profile to access information about their completed CPE and to print a valid statement of credit if needed.
