Let's Improve Patient Care and Promote Health Equity
Hosted by the Social and Administrative Sciences Section
We all know the social determinants of health (SDOH) matter and are important to include as part of the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process. However, it can be challenging to identify and integrate SDOH meaningfully in the classroom. The goal of this session is to share examples of innovative ways to incorporate SDOH into course work and discuss curricular assessment of these concepts.
Objectives:
- Describe the importance of including the social determinants of health (SDOH) in pharmacy curricula.
- Identify methods to improve the inclusion of SDOH concepts following the assessment of current practices.
- Relate innovative ways to incorporate SDOH into the classroom.
