Innovative In-Class Activities

Hosted by the Self-Care Therapeutics/Nonprescription Medicine SIG.

Instructing students on the application of the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process (PPCP) is an essential part of the pharmacy curriculum, but how does it apply to self-care courses or content? Presenters from three institutions will discuss examples of how they have applied the PPCP to self-care in their own classrooms.

Objectives:

  1. Review the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process (PPCP) and identify how each component can be applied to self-care and nonprescription medicine recommendations and scenarios
  2. Compare and contrast three innovative classroom activities applying the PPCP to self-care topics
  3. Discuss student feedback on examples provided and propose future directions for improvement
