Sharing Success Stories and Strategies for Overcoming Challenges in Caring for a Vulnerable Population

Hosted by the Geriatric Pharmacy SIG.

While the coronavirus pandemic has had a catastrophic impact worldwide in 2020, it has posed particularly large challenges for those caring for vulnerable elders. Geriatric patients are among the highest risk groups for contracting and succumbing to the virus, yet there are many other factors affecting this group which may present serious negative health, social, and economic consequences. Join us via webinar for a highly interactive discussion with a panel of clinician educators to discuss ways to maintain consistent, high-quality care provision for patients across socioeconomic, age, and health spectra.

Objectives:

  1. Discuss successful strategies for maintaining high levels of care for geriatric patients while overcoming barriers of physical distancing
  2. Identify challenges still looming for providing care now and anticipate those upcoming over the next several months
  3. Discuss best practices in precepting pharmacy students and residents in rapidly changing clinical and educational landscapes
