Considerations for Effective Global Pharmacy Practice Experiences

The purpose of this webinar is to educate participants about the fundamental requisites for effective global health field experiences. Presentations will start with an overview of institutional factors associated with U.S. pharmacy schools which offer didactic global health courses. This will be followed by strategies being used by U.S. pharmacy schools to offer global health education, including didactic core and elective courses, and global field experiences. The last presentation will address preceptor and student-related factors to be addressed in making global field experiences more effective.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the relationship between institutional factors and offerings of global health education opportunities in U.S. pharmacy schools.
  2. Discuss the modalities for global health education in US PharmD programs.
  3. Describe the preceptor and students-related considerations in global advanced pharmacy practice experiences.
