Keeping What Worked Well Virtually in Skills Laboratory Sessions
Hosted by the Laboratory Instructors SIG
During the 2020–2021 academic year, many pharmacy programs transitioned from traditionally delivering skills-based courses in-person to delivering all or most skills coursework online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With this academic year returning to a more pre-pandemic format and skills labs back to in-person, the question remains what worked well in the pandemic virtually and what should we continue post-pandemic.
Objectives:
- Describe virtual skills-based activities that worked well during the pandemic and could be continued in the skills lab post-pandemic.
- Compare and contrast benefits and barriers to implementing virtual skills activities and assessments.
- Discuss best practices regarding virtual skills activities and assessments.
