Gaining Consensus, Providing Faculty Support, & Sharing Global Strategies
Hosted by the Council of Faculties
Since the inception of the PharmD degree, pharmacy education has expanded rapidly to keep pace with an evolving practice environment and accreditation requirements. Through the identification of four exemplars of schools/colleges of pharmacy, this webinar will provide attendees with a global insight into combating curricular inefficiency (hoarding) with a focus on three key areas: programmatic buy-in, provision of faculty support, and global strategies for streamlining the curriculum (i.e. addition/subtraction of content). Attendees will gain wisdom regarding both the processes and challenges involved with pursuing curricular efficiency.
Objectives
- Describe curricular inefficiency (hoarding) to identify its relevance within the current
- landscape of pharmacy academia.
- Describe options for gaining programmatic consensus regarding curricular efficiency.
- Identify ways to support faculty actively battling curricular hoarding.
- Highlight global strategies to effectively make decisions about content elimination.
