This session seeks to provide information for Experiential Education faculty and staff regarding the quality assessment of preceptors and sites. The program will discuss approaches for preceptor assessment, including challenges and opportunities for improvement. Through example situations, participants will explore how to effectively collect information about preceptor performance, analyze and trend data from evaluation tools and feedback, and create effective solutions to identified problems.
Objectives:
- Describe the need for quality assessment in Experiential Education.
- Discuss strategies for gathering quality information about preceptor performance through student evaluations and feedback, site visits, and preceptor self-assessment.
- Describe how to analyze and interpret trends in preceptor performance and identify effective strategies for addressing any areas of improvement.
