When it comes to academic writing, we are often laser-focused on productivity and getting to a finished product. We view academic writing through a logical and scientific lens, while simultaneously ignoring and dismissing our emotional responses during our writing time. These emotional responses might present as writer’s block, anxiety, fear of criticism, or a perpetual cycle of rewriting. This webinar will focus on how we can use our emotional responses to become more self-aware, happier, and reflective writers.

Objectives:

  1. Describe why addressing the emotional responses of writing are critical to becoming a happier writer.
  2. Discuss evidence-based strategies to equip and empower participants to reflect and use their emotional responses to writing.
  3. Explore resources for writers to continue on a path to happier writing.
