Empowering Tomorrow's Pharmacists: Strategies for Effective Pediatric Patient Education Training in a Pharmacy Curriculum
Hosted by the Pediatric Pharmacy SIG
Effective communication is vital in healthcare, playing a crucial role in promoting therapy adherence, patient safety, improved outcomes, and patient satisfaction. To achieve these objectives, it is important to identify age and developmentally-appropriate communication and education principles. Additionally, incorporating pediatric communication strategies and considering developmental factors in the didactic curriculum can enhance communication skills. Lastly, creating a comprehensive plan for pharmacy students to provide pediatric patient education in the experiential setting will further improve patient outcomes and enhance the learning experience for students.
