Presented by the Experiential Education Section

To guide pharmacy colleges/schools in determining the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that students need to be practice-ready, the AACP Academic Affairs Committee published the Curricular Outcomes and Entrustable Professional Activities (COEPA) 2022 report. Preceptors play a vital role in ensuring students are practice-ready by observing and evaluating their performance on these educational outcomes. This webinar will introduce preceptors to COEPA and EPA target levels of entrustment scales used to evaluate learners on Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences. Examples of pharmacy colleges/schools' utilization of entrustment scales will be provided and attendees will be given an opportunity to actively apply the levels of entrustment scale to learner situations.

Target Audience

This webinar is designed for pharmacists, pharmacist educators, and pharmacists working in direct patient care areas.

Webinar Objectives

  • Describe Curriculum Outcomes and Entrustable Professional Activities (COEPA) as they relate to experiential education.
  • Define the target levels of entrustment utilized to evaluate student performance on Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences.
  • Cite examples of how pharmacy colleges/schools have incorporated EPAs into learner evaluations.
  • Apply the levels of entrustment scale to example learner situations.
