Aspiring Academics Fund
AACP is pleased to announce the Aspiring Academics Fund, established with a financial gift from AACP Past President Cynthia Boyle and her husband Raymond Love. The Fund will support a scholarship award for one student pharmacist to participate in the Aspiring Academics program by attending the AACP Annual Meeting and Teachers Seminar. The Aspiring Academics program is designed to inform and inspire students from diverse backgrounds who are interested in pursuing an academic pharmacy career.
Following the same metric used to establish tiered institutional dues, the scholarship recipient will be selected from the lowest quartile of colleges and schools of pharmacy, based on their total salary spend, as reported on the annual AACP Expenditure Survey. Targeting the lowest quartile will help identify the candidate most in need of financial support. All applicants from colleges and schools of pharmacy in the targeted group of programs will be considered for the scholarship. Candidates will be considered based solely on their Aspiring Academics application.
Additional information about the program, including eligibility criteria for participants and a description of how the cost of participation must be borne by the participant’s college or school of pharmacy, can be found on the Aspiring Academics website.
