A Telehealth-Based Interprofessional Education Program

Providing interprofessional education (IPE) during the unprecedented times of Covid19 requires out of the box strategies. This course will provide a roadmap for developing a telehealth-based model for delivery of IPE. Faculty will highlight telecommunications tools such as video-conferencing software, electronic health records, and supplementary aids such as recorded/live patient history and physical examinations. Presenters will discuss assessment strategies to ensure student learning and accountability. 

Objectives:

  • Discuss the implementation of a telehealth IPE including possible vectors for the explicit curriculum. 
  • Compare and contrast tools for delivery of asynchronous versus synchronous patient data for telehealth-based simulations.
  • Discuss assessment strategies to ensure student learning and accountability within a telehealth model.
