Pharmacy programs are responsible for providing appropriate accommodations to learners including individuals with visual impairment and blindness. These disabilities are encountered less frequently in learners; therefore, faculty must utilize different thought processes in their approach when creating and reviewing materials used in the classroom. Recognizing areas that may be impacted by visual disabilities and options in commonly used software programs are key to making information accessible for all learners and to promote an inclusive classroom. This interactive Zoom webinar will give attendees the chance to participate in a facilitated discussion of case examples on accessibility.

Objectives

  1. Define accessibility as it relates to creating learning materials within the classroom.
  2. Identify ways to improve accessibility for visual disability when creating learning activities.
