If you have ever found yourself feeling unmotivated, uninspired, or even burnt out, you are not alone! Academic career slumps are common and not often discussed openly. This session will focus on developing skills to reinvigorate yourself during a slump. Attendees will have the opportunity to self-reflect, identify the root(s) of any negative or apathetic feelings, set short- and long-term goals, and begin creating an action plan for redirecting their career path and feeling purpose again.

Objectives

  1. Evaluate the role of introspection and self-reflection in navigating a career slump.
  2. Discuss strategies surrounding goal setting for various milestones throughout your career.
  3. Develop an individual action plan using tools from this session to navigate or prevent a career slump.
