Curbing Curricular Assessment Overload in Pharmacy Education

Assessment overload is a contemporary challenge that can hinder effective learning and contribute to student stress and burnout. This session aims to provide the audience with practical strategies to curtail curricular assessment overload in pharmacy curricula. Using a multi-institutional panel, experts will discuss innovative approaches, share best practices and engage with participants in identifying workable strategies. The session will provide valuable insights and practical examples for effectively reducing assessments in pharmacy education.
Objectives:
- Identify the signs of curricular assessment overload within pharmacy curricula and its impact on student learning and well-being.
- Discuss strategies for balancing assessment methods and creating more effective and sustainable evaluation practices in pharmacy education.
- Evaluate possible actions for institutions to address curricular assessment overload, fostering a more conducive learning environment for pharmacy students and sustainable assessment-related workload for faculty.
